Biography Joey Molland

Badfinger member Joey Molland's recording career began when he joined 'The Masterminds' who released a mid-60's single on The Rolling Stones' publicist Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label followed by a stint backing & writing for Gary Walker of the Walker Brothers from 1967-69. He joined up with Apple recording artists Badfinger and also played with George Harrison, as well as on John Lennon's Imagine.

In 1975 he teamed with Jerry Shirley (formerly of Humble Pie) and formed a group called Natural Gas that lasted until 1977. Molland soon returned to using the Badfinger name with fellow former member Tom Evans for albums in 1978 and1981. Molland continued to release recordings & use the Badfinger name after Evans death, resulting in some lawsuits and criticism.

His first proper solo album After The Pearl, was released in 1984 on Earthtone Records followed by a second, The Pilgrim, released in 1992 on Rykodisc. His third, This Way Up, was independently released in 2001.
