Biography Matt Kelly

There are at least two artists with this name:

Matt Kelly is a producer who has released several records on the superb Canadian Bully Records label. From the Bully website: Matt Kelly is a very talented programmer and multi-instrumentalist from Montreal by way of Halifax. He is the man behind the scenes on a lot of records you may (or may not) have heard, a bad man, as we like to say.

Peridot is his first full length cd. A Heavy ride through sparse electronic sounds, future dub processing, bent melody. With intricate and interesting microsamples, cut up, destroyed and reassembled.

Also, John Madison "Matt" Kelly started his professional career in 1985 as the bassist for the Spokane based country/rock band Big Slick and the Alley Gators which featured Kelly, guitarist Pat Greider, drummer Randy Weires and Fiddlin' Big Al Chidester. Kelly had begun writing songs and performed many of them with the band. He went on to form "Rondo" and later "The Weeds". A bandmate from Rondo, Kurt Stauss, became Kelly's music publisher, documenting, recording and copyrighting Kelly's constant output of new songs. The album "Heart and Soil" came out in 2004 on Leftneck Records (www.leftneckrecords.com). Kelly currently performs as a solo act around central California. Kelly performs also in Seattle, Portland and Spokane on occasion.
