History Rival Turf

Rival Turf is a German all-star band consisting of former PsY drummer Dave Zwinkmann, Ears Shut mastermind David Händel and ex-C.H. guitarist and vocalist Gorden Gorek.

The band is heavily influenced by Japanese rock, heavy metal and visual kei bands like DIR EN GREY and MUCC, blending the origin of Zwinkmann's former band with the aggression and intensity of Händel's solo projects.

The band was founded in early 2007 including David Giestheuer on bass guitar, but he was soon expelled from the band later that year. The remaining band members are still looking for a new bassist.

First official music samples were released by Farscape Records in February 2008 when a demo session video of the song "FIERCE LAMENT" appeared on an unfinished homepage. Another MP3, the demo version of the song "Gift" was then released on last.fm in March. The rough sound of the first two songs is only a spark of an appetizer for the upcoming debut EP, which is scheduled for late 2008.
