History Sterling Avenue

Sterling Avenue is a London-based music project led by American singer-songwriter JP Zarka.

What started off as a couple of friends meeting alongside drink and a singalong around a left-handed guitar in August 2011, led to lead guitarist Dave Watson, bassist Jacob Osman and drummer Andy Faulkner (of the IC1s) coming on board to help Zarka record a few of his songs. Rehearsals began in February 2012 and recording commenced at Broadfield Studios in Watford, England later in the year in November. Busy schedules pushed back the finish of the recording, however in October 2013, the recording of Sterling Avenue's debut EP was complete with mixing finished in the middle part of 2014. Their self-titled debut EP was released on 01 August 2014.
