History Rhombus

There are at least three bands called Rhombus:

1) UK Goth Rock Band

Rhombus are one of the finest Goth Rock bands to emerge from the North of England in many years.

Mixing male and female vocals with swirling guitars and driving bass, they combine some of the best elements of traditional 80s/90s UK Goth, with a more modern approach.

Their songs are well crafted and catchy, possessing both depth and a sharp sense of humour.

2) New Zealand Dub/Reggae Band

Rhombus are a Dub/Drum n Bass/Reggae/Roots band from Wellington, New Zealand. They were formed in 2001 by Thomas Voyce, Simon Rycroft, Koa Williams and Ahmen Mahal aka Imon Star (who departed from the group in 2007 to pursue his solo project 'Olmecha Supreme'). The band has toured extensively in their native New Zealand along with a few international dates, notably in Japan (2002) and in Australia, playing twice at the Sydney Opera House in November 2004. Over the years they have performed with such acts as St Germain (France), Fat Freddy's Drop (NZ), Salmonella Dub (NZ), Michael Franti (USA), Dry and Heavy (Japan), Trinity Roots (NZ), Gomez (UK) Kora (NZ), Shapeshifter (NZ), Katchafire (NZ) and also performed at the Big Day Out (NZ) 2006.

3) RHOMBU$, a thrash pop band from Bellingham, Washington.

"The first time I experienced Rhombus live I closed my eyes and imagined a traveling gypsy trash-kickball team who would go from town to town with a wagon full of tall boys, cigarette butts, dented metal garbage cans, crusty pizza boxes and empty jug bottles; hidden behind these random piles of hobo gold is an organ made of bones, some human but mostly those of wild animals."
