Biography John Pål Inderberg

John Pål Inderberg, born August 6, 1950, saxophonist. Earlier member of new cool quartet, gave new popularity to the collective art of improvisation in the 1950's. J.P. Inderberg recived the Norwegian Jazzassociation award in 1991, the Buddy statuette. Member of the EBU-band in 1980 and 1998.

John Pål Inderberg is teacher of improvisation and joint heas of the jazzdepartment, Trondheim Conservatory of Music, NTNU.

Toured and recorded with Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh (saxophone), Chet Baker (trumpet) and Bob Brookmeyer (trombone). He's a previous member of Gil Evan's Scandinavian ensemble. He has also put his mark on several recordings with the poet Jan Erik Vold. Now he's a member in "The Zetting", with Vigleik storaas (el-piano), Sondre Maisfjord (bass) and Ernst-Wiggo sandbakk (drums).
