History Mike Stuart Span

Mike Stuart Span were a British late 1960s psychedelic rock group based in Brighton, United Kingdom. Personnel: Stuart Hobday (vocals), Brian Bennett (guitar), Gary 'Roscoe' Murphy (drums), Roger McCabe (bass). They released four singles in 1967 and 1968, then changed their name to Leviathan when they signed to Elektra in early 1969. Leviathan issued another trio of singles, but when their intended debut album was cancelled at the eleventh hour by label president Jac Holzman that proved to be a crushing blow that led to the break-up of the band.
