Biography Drew Brown

Infusing his influences from artists such as U2 and Coldplay, Sting and Peter Gabriel, Seal and Johnny Cash, Drew Brown creates a unique blend of brit-rock-ambient-soul. Drew is no respecter of genre, and it shows in his songs, both on stage and CD. He is not afraid to rock out nor does he shy away from digging into a murky folk song with an R&B twist. It's the blending of genres and sonic ideas that allow his music to stand out from the crowd.

As a songwriter, Drew's focus is on connecting the world and the church to God. His vision is to provide songs that speak of his journey with the One who saved him…but in a way that can be understood and captured by both churched and unchurched. While playing in the clubs, he was able to see first-hand how music can change people. So he continued to create music infused with intimate moments, guitar-driven grooves and ambient landscapes. Each track is a story, personal yet universal, about love, loss and faith.

In his short career as a solo artist, he has reached the top of the radio charts with his songs "Whisper to a Roar" and "Reach Out". His other singles "Collide" and "Shine" reached the #2 mark. He has garnered many award nominations and recently picked up a GMA Canada Music award for "R&B/Soul/Urban Song of the Year" for his ambient rocker “Shine”. Drew has shared the stage and toured with Christian acts such as Hillsong's Reuben Morgan and United, Starfield, Manafest, Amanda Falk, and mainstream acts Matchbox 20, Our Lady Peace, and Wide Mouth Mason.
