Yellowman

Known as "King" Yellowman, Winston Foster is one of Jamaica's most celebrated reggae artists. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1959, he honed his early musical skills at the Alpha Boy's School, a renowned institution for aspiring reggae musicians.

Nicknamed Yellowman for his albino appearance, Winston Foster began his career in the late 1970s as a deejay, or toaster. He embraced his unique identity, using self-deprecating humor and lyrical dexterity to connect with audiences. His talent was recognized when he won the annual Tastee Talent contest in Jamaica in 1978, quickly propelling him to headlining status on local stage shows.
