Jack Stauber is a musician and artist known for his distinctive hypnagogic-pop sound and surreal, often comedic, animated shorts. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Stauber's creative output extends beyond music to include his work as an animator. He holds a college degree with a major in junior marketing and a minor in studio arts.
Stauber's YouTube channel experienced rapid growth in popularity starting in March 2018. His videos are characterized by short, catchy songs paired with eccentric animations. A key element of his visual style is a deliberate VHS aesthetic, achieved by manipulating footage on a VCR before uploading, contributing to a nostalgic and lo-fi feel.
