History
Caleb Zackery "Don" Toliver (born June 12, 1994) is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter hailing from Houston, Texas. Known for his distinctive melodic flow and atmospheric, R&B-infused trap sound, Toliver has rapidly ascended the ranks of modern hip-hop to become a globally recognized artist and a flagship member of Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Records.
Early Career and Breakthrough
Toliver began his musical journey in May 2017 with the collaborative mixtape Playa Familia, released alongside fellow rapper Yungjosh93. His solo career quickly gained momentum later that year with the release of the singles "I Gotta" and "Diva." These tracks caught the attention of Atlantic Records, leading to a major-label record deal in March 2018.
While working on his debut mixtape, Donny Womack, Toliver connected with fellow Houston native Travis Scott. This pivotal meeting led to an invitation to Hawaii to record for Scott's highly anticipated third studio album, ASTROWORLD. Toliver delivered a standout vocal performance on the track "CAN'T SAY," which catapulted him into the mainstream spotlight. In a strategic release, Toliver dropped Donny Womack on August 2, 2018, just one day before ASTROWORLD hit the charts, maximizing his exposure alongside a major co-sign from Scott.
Heaven Or Hell and Mainstream Success
In May 2019, Toliver released "No Idea," the lead single for his debut studio album. The track became a massive viral hit on TikTok, cementing his status as a leading voice in a new generation of hip-hop. Later that year, he featured heavily on the Cactus Jack Records compilation album JACKBOYS, contributing to tracks like "Had Enough" (featuring Quavo and Offset), "WHAT TO DO?," and "GANG GANG."
Toliver's industry footprint expanded further in January 2020 when he was recruited by producer D.A. Doman to provide the chorus for "No Regrets" on Eminem's eleventh studio album, Music to Be Murdered By. Shortly after, on March 13, 2020, Toliver released his debut studio album, Heaven Or Hell. The project featured high-profile guest appearances from Travis Scott, Quavo, Offset, Sheck Wes, and Kaash Paige, further solidifying his place in the industry.
Life of a Don and Love Sick
Continuing his prolific output, Toliver began teasing his sophomore effort, Life of a Don, in early 2021. The album was preceded by the singles "What You Need" and "Drugs N Hella Melodies," the latter featuring American singer and his real-life partner, Kali Uchis.
In February 2023, Toliver announced his third studio album, Love Sick. He built anticipation with a rapid succession of singles, including another Kali Uchis collaboration, "4 Me," and "Leave the Club" featuring Lil Durk and GloRilla. Love Sick officially dropped on February 24, 2023, followed just days later by a deluxe edition that added four new tracks. The deluxe version included notable collaborations such as "Embarrassed" with Travis Scott and "Luckily I'm Having" featuring Teezo Touchdown.
Hardstone Psycho and Fashion Collaborations
Toliver kicked off his next era in early 2024 with the release of the hit single "Bandit" in February, followed by "Deep in the Water" in March. These tracks served as the foundation for his fourth studio album, Hardstone Psycho, showcasing his continued evolution as a versatile hitmaker.
Beyond music, Toliver has made significant strides in the high-fashion world. In February 2025, he debuted a highly anticipated collaboration produced by Pharrell Williams. Created specifically for the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall 2025 show in Paris, the track soundtracked the finale of the event, where Toliver walked the runway alongside legendary designer Nigo.
