History

Bilmuri is an American solo project founded in 2016 by Johnny Franck, a former member of Attack Attack!. The project blends alternative rock, pop-rock, and post-hardcore elements. The name "Bilmuri" is a playful abbreviation inspired by the comedian and actor Bill Murray.

Early Releases and Growing Fanbase

Bilmuri emerged in 2016 with the release of several singles, including "Jaguar Shark" and "Letters," alongside a self-titled album. The project continued to release new material consistently, with the albums "Frame" and "Banana" arriving in 2017, followed by "Taco" and "Solid Chub" in 2018. In 2019, Bilmuri released "Pasteurized Milk," "Wet Milk," and "Rich Sips," which were well-received by the project's growing fanbase.

Collaboration and Increased Recognition

Bilmuri gained further attention from fans of Franck's previous band, Attack Attack!, with the release of the single "Thicc Thiccly" from the "Rich Sips" album. This track featured Caleb Shomo, vocalist for Beartooth and former Attack Attack! bandmate, and served as a parody of Attack Attack!'s hit single "Stick Stickly."

Collaborative EP and Subsequent Albums

In 2020, Bilmuri released a collaborative EP titled "Bilmuri and Friends" (also known as "Muri and Friends"). The EP featured contributions from various artists, including Dayseeker, No Dice, Tilian Pearson, Jonathan Young, Lauren Babic, Surf Team, and Whale Bones. This was followed by the albums "400LB BACK SQUAT" in 2021 and "GOBLIN HOURS" in 2022.
