Fastbacks were a highly influential band from Seattle, active from 1979 to 2001. The group was founded by songwriter and guitarist Kurt Bloch, alongside Lulu Gargiulo (guitar and vocals) and Kim Warnick (bass and vocals). Their distinctive sound fused punk sensibilities in vocal delivery and sonic textures with catchy, pop-oriented melodies and accomplished musicianship.
Kurt Bloch, born August 28, 1960, was the primary songwriter and guitarist. Lulu Gargiulo, born October 12, 1960, contributed guitar and vocals, while Kim Warnick, born April 7, 1959, handled bass and vocals. This core lineup established the band's unique blend of punk energy and pop accessibility.
