Muse Announce Tenth Album 'The Wow! Signal' with High-Altitude Music Video Premiere
The alt-rock band Muse, who have long toyed with technology and sci-fi in their music, are now bringing those themes into real life. The band just announced their new album, The Wow! Signal, which is scheduled for release on June 26 via Warner. To reveal the project, Muse partnered with Sent Into Space to launch a special tablet over 20 miles into the Earth's atmosphere. While that screen was floating high above the earth, it premiered the music video for the band's brand-new single, "Be With You."

Album Details and Previous Releases
The Wow! Signal will serve as the band's tenth studio album, arriving as the official follow-up to their previous record,
Will of the People, which came out in 2022. The upcoming project is a 10-song LP that features the newly debuted space-launched track "Be With You," as well as the previously released single "Unravelling." Muse are clearly going big for this release, utilizing the atmosphere itself to introduce their latest era.
The 1977 Interstellar Mystery
The title of the new album, The Wow! Signal, gets its name directly from a famous interstellar mystery that actually happened. In 1977, a powerful 72-second radio burst was detected originating from the Sagittarius constellation. The signal possessed a bandwidth and intensity that suggested a possible extraterrestrial source. After discovering the anomaly, the astronomer reviewing the data circled the now-famous sequence "6EQUJ5" and scribbled the word "Wow!" beside it. As noted in the announcement, the rest is scientific pop-culture history.
Cosmic Themes and Official Tracklist
Expanding on that ambiance and the historic astronomical event, the band's new music delves deeply into thematic elements of the unknown. An official press release for The Wow! Signal details the thematic core of the record, describing the album as being:
"a mix of cosmic mystery, existential hope, and the exhilarating possibility of contact with something far greater than ourselves."
— Press Release
It helps build this atmosphere that the album features evocative song titles, including the track "Cryogen," alongside nine other conceptually named pieces. The news of the upcoming release arrives as the band's expansive catalog continues to be celebrated, recently highlighted by a Pitchfork Sunday Review of Muse’s classic album,
Origin of Symmetry.
The complete tracklist for the 10-song LP is as follows:
1The Dark Forest
2Nightshift Superstar
3Shimmering Scars
4Cryogen
5Be With You
6Hexagons
7The Sickness in You & I
8Unravelling
9Hush
