Big Sean (born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson on March 25, 1988) is a multi-platinum American rapper who rose from the Detroit underground to become one of the most commercially successful figures in modern hip-hop. Known for his clever wordplay and distinct flow, he spent over a decade as a cornerstone of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label before transitioning into independent business ventures.
Raised in Detroit by his mother and grandparents, Anderson attended the Detroit Waldorf School and later Cass Technical High School. His musical foundation was built on the principles of hard work and artistic expression. While in high school, he gained local notoriety by participating in weekly rap battles at the Detroit radio station 102.7 FM.
